- I was born & educated in Sunderland, County Durham (now Tyne & Wear)I worked for six years in the Meteorological Office then left in 1964 to join the Police service serving for 27 years. On retirement I ran my own small photographic studio. Photography has been my main hobby for the last 40+ years.As will be imagined I have seen many changes in photography and still strive to keep up with the progress although I do have sneaky liking for darkrooms and smelly chemicals, especially Black and White printing. I do however shoot nearly all my pictures digitally and print on a large format ink jet printer.
